Below is the race information for the Ridgeway Run  5 & 10 mile trail and children's run on Saturday 22 September 2018.

ENTRY PRICES 2018:

10 MILE INDIVIDUAL ENTRY £24.00, 10 MILE TEAM ENTRY (3-6 PEOPLE) £21.60**

5 MILE INDIVUAL ENTRY £18.00, 5 MILE TEAM ENTRY (3-6 PEOPLE) £16.20*

CHILDREN'S TRAIL RUN £10.00***

* minimum participants age 10 years old (waiver to be signed by a parent/guardian)

** minimum participants age 18 years old (waiver to be signed)

*** Open to ages 6 - 13 years (waiver to be signed by parent/guardian) children aged 10 and above can if they wish run the 5 mile route with an adult.

This year we ask please that you bring your own water carriers, if you have your Ridgeway Run bottle from last year bring that! There will be refill stations but we will not be handing out plastic bottles of water.

TEAM ENTRY & PRIZES

If you are joining a team that is already registered you will find the team name in the drop menu under TEAM/CHARITY/RUNNING CLUB click on your team name, further on down where it says I HAVE A PROMOTION CODE click on this and enter in capitals the word TEAM this will ensure you get your team discount.  If you are the first to register a new team enter you name under CREATE NEW TEAM and carry on with registration as above.

Only the first three runners placings of a team running the same distance will count towards the overall team time/placing.

Please pick up your race number from the event HQ situated in the event car park.  The car park and registration will be open from 0700.

Remember to bring safety pins and race belt. It is a challenging course please ensure that you are fit enough to run it.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

St John‘s Ambulance services will be there and marshals on the course. Runners are recommended to put personal/ medical details on the reverse of their race numbers. It is the runner’s responsibility to check any health issues.

PARKING AND FACILITIES

The event car park is near the Ashbury Village Shop it will be clearly sign posted and there will be marshals to assist, for sat nav use SN6 8DB. Please be respectful of the village community and park only where allowed. The event car park will be open from 0700.

Toilets are available at the event car park and will also be at the start.

There is no secure bag drop area, please make sure that you do not leave anything of value unattended.

THE START/ FINISH OF THE RACE

The Children's race will start at 0900.  There will be a race briefing at the start at 0845.  Children running will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver at registration when they collect their number.  Children are welcome to run with an adult.  Race numbers must be collected by 0830.

Before the start of the race, all runners are required to attend the race briefing at the start for the 5 and 10 mile race at 09.45.

The 10 mile run will start at 10 am and the 5 mile run will start at 10.10 am. All runners are asked to allow plenty of time to reach the start of the race. At the start and finish please take care of other runners, spectators and traffic that may be using the road.

THE COURSE

The Ridgeway is a National Trail and surrounding footpaths are open to all the public please be considerate of other users not taking part in the event. You will be running over agricultural land we ask you to respect this and keep to the footpaths.

Water stations will be at approximately 3 miles intervals along the course.  There will be a water station at the start/finsh for you to refill your bottles. Please do not litter the course.

Markers will clearly sign the course.

It is asked that spectators keep dogs on leads at all times and remain clear of the course.

CLOTHING

The course is predominately trail and grass footpaths, trail shoes are advisable and spikes are banned. Please ensure that you have enough warm clothing for before and after the event.

Headphones and other similar listening devices are not allowed.

You must wear your race number on your front with safety pins or race belt. Please ensure that it is fully visible and secure, as without it we will be unable to provide you with an official/ accurate finish time.

Sat Nav SN6 8LS. Ashbury can be accessed by way of the B4000 or the B4507 it is about 9.5 miles from Swindon, 27 miles from Oxford and driving distance of 77 miles form London.
